Does it seem as though the world is getting darker, spiritually speaking? I would say, “yes”. There are forces moving in the world today that oppose God and the things of God.
If you turn on the news or scroll social media, you will see examples of great spiritual darkness.
There has always been opposition to Christians throughout history, but there is an increase of hostility towards Christians today…even in countries where Christians traditionally have enjoyed freedoms.
You may be facing something that seems like Christians have never faced before, but the truth is that the Scriptures are full of stories of God’s people facing hardship, opposition, and persecution. Regardless of how dire your situation, you can read time and time again about how God brought great victory out of great hardship.
One of those times is found in the book of Exodus. God’s people had suffered greatly as slaves in Egypt and saw God’s power at work in delivering them from captivity. Now free from Egypt’s grasp, Moses’s father-in-law Jethro came to visit:
“Moses told his father-in-law the story of all that God had done to Pharaoh and Egypt in helping Israel, all the trouble they had experienced on the journey, and how God had delivered them.
Jethro was delighted in all the good that God had done for Israel in delivering them from Egyptian oppression. Jethro said, ‘Blessed be God who has delivered you from the power of Egypt and Pharaoh, who has delivered his people from the oppression of Egypt. Now I know that God is greater than all gods because he’s done this to all those who treated Israel arrogantly.’” (Exodus 18:8-11)
God’s people were oppressed, persecuted, and treated harshly in Egypt. That final verse says there were those who treated Israel arrogantly. Arrogantly means haughtily and showing no respect for the views of others. In its origin, it means "to do the opposite of."
Doesn't this describe what's happening in our world today? This is exactly what many in politics and positions of authority are doing right now. They are treating Christians arrogantly. They are treating godly principles arrogantly.
But God is not going to continue to tolerate it – He has a plan!
It's like what Paul said about Satan taking Jesus to the cross, "…had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory" (1 Corinthians 2:8).
If Satan had known what God had planned, he would not have taken Jesus to the cross – he was about to experience his greatest defeat! And Paul goes on to say in verse 9, “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived the things God has prepared for those who love him."
GOD HAS SOME GREAT THINGS IN STORE!
He didn’t allow the children of Israel to be destroyed, He didn’t allow the early Church to be destroyed, and furthermore, He's not going to allow His Church today to be destroyed!
Don't ever allow anyone, including the news media, to convince you otherwise! Jesus said in Matthew 16:18, “…I will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” Jesus is still building, and the Church is still victorious!
Now, going back to Exodus 18, Moses told Jethro about all the hardships that the Israelites had endured under Pharaoh's reign. Moses gave him a complete and thorough narrative about all they had been through stating, "All the travail that had come upon them" (Exodus 18:8).
Another translation says, "All the weariness." Weariness means uneasiness, fatigue, disappointed expectations, and exhausted patience. Sounds like what many people are experiencing today.
But notice once again how God responded… with an outpouring of His goodness! This is a pattern with God; He always comes to the aid of His people with an outpouring of His goodness.
Later in Scripture, we read about David and all the adversity that he endured and the battles in which he was thrust into. Eventually, after experiencing victory, you hear David say concerning God, "And now, O Lord God, thou art that God, and thy words be true, and thou hast promised this goodness unto thy servant" (2 Samuel 7:28).
Notice that every battle that was won, every blessing, and every breakthrough that had come into his life, he was attributing it to the goodness of God.
This is the same God that you and I are serving today, and you will have this same testimony!
Don't ever think for one minute that "it’s all over.” No, God will have the final say! It’s all through the Bible, every time God’s people experienced adversity, eventually there is an outpouring of the goodness of God.
God is about to pour out His goodness in an unprecedented way! Begin to expect it. Begin to declare it.
David explained, “I had fainted unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living” (Psalm 27:13).
I’m here to help you keep your faith strong. You should be watching for and expecting to see an unprecedented outpouring of God’s goodness in the days to come. Don’t get caught up in all the bad and negative things that are happening in our world today. Stay focused on what God has promised!
I know that I’m believing, and I’m expecting to see it in my life and ministry! And I’m linking my faith with yours to see the unprecedented goodness of God overtake you!

How long are you willing to trust God? Do you have a no quit faith?
While praying about what the Holy Spirit wanted me to share with you, I kept hearing in my spirit these words, “It’s time to press into the prophetic Promises of God.”
What does this mean?
First of all, the word “Press” is defined as:
1) The state of being persistent
2) To be urgent or demanding, compelling action from one’s self
3) To engage in a relentless manner for a certain cause
4) To make a strenuous effort to achieve something of great importance
5) To earnestly endure
6) To hold fast without wavering or compromising
This is what the Apostle Paul meant when he said, “I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 3:14).
If you want to experience all that God promises, you’re going to have to develop what I call a no quit faith. That’s the attitude Paul had. Regardless of the hardships, persecutions, and betrayals, Paul refused to back down.
That’s the attitude that we all must have if we truly desire to see the fulfillment of God’s promises. It simply comes down to, “How much do you want them to come to pass in your life, and how long are you willing to persevere?”
The Prophetic Word that I shared with you last year has been that God would open a new door, and supernatural increase would come as never before. I have literally experienced this, and I’m still “pressing” for it this year as well, and like the Apostle Paul, I’m not turning back!
Sadly, God’s people often give up too soon.
How long are you willing to persevere? There are some promises from God that I’ve been believing to see for over 20 years! And in the past few months, some of those promises have manifested! God is no respecter of persons. If you stay in faith, if you keep pressing, God’s promises will manifest in your life!
Jesus said in Mathew 11:12, “The violent take it by force.” The Amplified Bible says, “A share in the heavenly kingdom is sought with most ardent zeal and intense exertion.” In other words, once you are convinced that what God said is true and it belongs to you, then you should let nothing stop you.
Don’t give up until you take possession of it!
If God says that I can have it, then I’m not giving up until I have it! You might be thinking, “But you don’t understand, the devil is fighting me day and night, and it’s so hard to keep on going.”
But that’s what perseverance is all about! I know it’s not easy…that’s why people quit. Before being saved, I always looked for the path of least resistance. If things got tough, I’d quit.
I had to develop the art of continuing. And you can develop that same attitude. You can have that same tenacity!
God would never expect persistence from you if it weren’t possible.
You are going to have to stand strong and fight the good fight of faith. James 4:17 instructs you to, “Submit yourselves therefore to God, RESIST THE DEVIL AND HE WILL FLEE FROM YOU.”
In other words, stand your ground and refuse to waver! How persistent are you in doing this?
There are examples all over the Bible of people who demonstrated a relentless faith and how God rewarded them by fulfilling what He had promised to them.
Paul tells us that their stories were recorded for our benefit. He wrote in Romans 15:4, “That we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.”
That’s why you need to stay in the Word, so that these examples will continuously encourage you to press on. The Book of Hebrews records many stories of these “relentless people” and how God honored their faith. And He has promised to do the same for you if you will follow their example!
Hebrews 11:33-34 declares, “Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness obtained promises…” Did you see that? It was through standing in faith that they OBTAINED PROMISES. The Passion Translation puts it this way, “Their faith fastened onto their promises and pulled them into reality.”
Fastened means to firmly attach or to secure so that you’re not likely to give up or to give way. Another definition is to become incapable of being overcome with doubt or discouragement.
Is this what you’re doing? Does this describe you?
I’m here to talk you out of quitting and in to winning! Take a stand of faith. Refuse to give up or give in. That’s how you lay hold of the prophetic promises.
You can persevere knowing that God is faithful.
Deuteronomy 7:9 encourages you saying, “Know therefore that the Lord thy God, he is God, THE FAITHFUL GOD, which keepeth covenant…to a thousand generations.” This would certainly include you and me! Declare today, “MY GOD IS THE FAITHFUL GOD!”
Now, if you truly believe God is faithful, then don’t ever stop expecting Him to bring His promises to pass on your behalf.
The Holy Spirit revealed to me that 2021 is, “THE YEAR OF ABUNDANT OVERFLOW.” I encourage you to go for it! Don’t shrink back or relax your faith. Stand firm and see God bring abundance and promotion to you this year.
