Dear Friends and Partners,

Are you thinking about the holidays yet? Or maybe the swirl of world events has captured your attention?

As the end of the year approaches, I want to remind you of what the Lord shared with Jerry about seeing His Word fulfilled in your life: Stay in faith, remain focused on the promises, and do not be distracted by the world around you.

As we head into November, here in America, we are facing two big events: the Presidential election and Thanksgiving.  Aren’t we glad these two events coincide?  We have a calendar reminder to remain thankful no matter what the outcome.

A heart of gratitude aligns you with God’s will and opens the door for His peace to reign in your life, no matter what is happening around you,

During this time of year, it could be easy to get distracted or side-tracked from thankfulness and your time with God.  Even if it were not an election year, the holidays always bring their own busy-ness and distractions.

Family time is precious and vital, but nothing is more vital than quality time in the secret place with God and His Word.  First Thessalonians 5:16-18 reminds us, “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything giving thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”  And as you spend time with Him, your attention refocuses on His goodness and greatness which allows joy and peace to arise in your heart.

When you start to think there is not enough time for God is when trouble often begins. Stressful times often come from not spending enough time in His Word.  But when you’re consistently in His Word, His voice is louder and clearer than any other voice.

When reports or challenges come, you’ll already be armed with God’s truth, ready to stand firm. Isn’t He so good?

Joshua 1:8 says, This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein; for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous and then thou shalt have good success.

Meditating on God’s Word day and night doesn’t just lead to material success – it brings spiritual prosperity, peace, and strength that surpasses understanding.  You’re mind becomes stayed on Him, and perfect peace (wellness, soundness) is the result (Isaiah 26:3).

As the holidays approach, you may think of joy, peace, and hope; but sadly, statistics show us stress, depression, and tragedies like divorce and suicide tend to rise during this season.  This shouldn’t be so!

It’s crucial that you stay full of God, both for our own sakes and for those around you.  The enemy seeks to steal your joy and peace, but Romans 15:13 declares, “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”

When you fellowship with God and remain in His presence, you are filled with His joy and peace, equipping you to thrive in any and every season.

When you start your day by praying in the Holy Spirit and fellowshipping with the Lord, you’ll find yourself full of peace, patience, and joy to face whatever comes.  Have you ever had your car battery die on you? You need jumper cables to get it going again.

The same is true when you feel emotionally or mentally drained; praying in tongues is like a spiritual jump-start.  Jude 1:20 says, But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit.  Praying in the Spirit strengthens your inner man, empowering you to overcome.

Spending time with God is like eating a meal.  You need food for strength, energy and life itself. It’s the same with the Word of God; you need to digest it every day in order to keep your spirit strong and full of joy.

This month, let the joy of the Lord rise up within you so you can truly enjoy this time of year.  Proverbs 15:15 says, …but he who is of a merry heart has a continual feast.  In order to obtain this merry heart, you must feast daily at God’s table.  Don’t just snack; show up for meals with the Lord.  Dig in!

Psalm 34:8 invites you, “Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who trusts in Him!”  The more you experience God, the more your faith in Him grows and the more of the blessing you experience.

Don’t get distracted by the world around you.  Don’t let Satan steal your peace, whether by attacking your finances, family, health, or even your time with God.  As you head into the Holiday season, make it a point to feast at God’s table – daily, not just at Thanksgiving!

God’s desire is for you to advance and progress every day, in every way.

P.S.  Don’t let the busyness of the season steal your peace. Take time each day to pause, reflect, and draw near to God.  As you do, you’ll find that His joy and strength will carry you through with grace and victory!

Remember, He’s preparing a feast for you in the midst of whatever challenges you face (Ps 23:5) – come and dine with Him daily! I’m praying for you and hope to hear from you soon.
