Do you want the power of God? Do you look at the world around you and hunger to be a vessel of change? There is one thing I have been a part of for 55 years that has made a huge difference in our ministry, and I want to share that with you.

No matter what the situation or where in the world you are, God has given you a key to power and victory. It is a severe weapon against our adversary. One that Jesus, Himself, employed. And you are never without its availability.

James 5:16 tells us that “the effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.” I have always liked the wording in The Amplified Classic, which reads, “The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working]. Our prayers make tremendous power available! Glory to God.

In these end times, I have heard people worried about the world around us and all that is going on. I have heard statements of despair and hopelessness, almost as if there is nothing that we can do but throw up our hands and give up. But there is a powerful weapon available to every believer. We need to take our stand and - PRAY!

Why pray? Your prayer makes tremendous power available, dynamic in its working! We need to believe that. Prayer reaches out in love to a dying world and boldly declares, “I care.” Don’t give up now! Jesus admonished us that men ought always to pray and not lose heart (Luke 18:1).

I believe prayer is part of our calling and duty as a child of God. Jesus prayed and still prays. The Bible says that He ever lives to make intercession (see Hebrews 7:25). Jesus knows the power of prayer. That could be one reason He corrected His disciples in Matthew 26 for not praying with Him for at least one hour.

The prophetic word that was given this year to Jerry, of “Advancement, Progression, and Promotion,” reveals the Father’s heart for us. God, Himself, wants to see “our Highest Expectations fulfilled.” Jeremiah 1:12 tells us that God watches over His word to perform it. In other words, for this to be a reality in our lives, we just need to turn to God to perform it.

Prayer is simply an act of the will. It is taking time to talk with and to God, surrendering our problems to Him and His divine intervention. Remember, He wants to see His word fulfilled! 2 Chronicles 16:9 says, “the eyes of the Lord run to and fro, throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.”

What if the power for which you are yearning is available in your prayer life? So many times, people try to work things out on their own, and then as a last resort turn to God. Jerry would always joke when people asked him to pray before a service or a meal by saying, “Has it come to that?” It was so funny. But in reality, that is how many treat prayer, instead of the powerful first resort that it should be.

Charles Spurgeon once said that when the Creator gives His creatures the power of thirst, it is because water exists to meet that thirst. So, when you and I have the instinct or need to cry out to God, it is because prayer has a corresponding blessing or answer connected to it.

God wants us to step into our rightful place in the earth again and use our voice to accomplish His will. God reveals over and over again in His word that our words are powerful. “The earnest, heartfelt prayer of a righteous man AVAILS MUCH” (James 5:16). Our prayers become a vehicle through which God moves.

Prayer should never be a struggle or a drudgery. When you understand how powerful it is, prayer becomes exciting. Our obedient words and actions can make things happen and bring God’s plans into existence.

I also love the fact that anyone can pray. From the oldest to the youngest. Prayer does not require advanced education. You can keep it short and simple, and you can do it all through the day. Prayer is simply contact with God, Who is always more than enough.

When we align ourselves with God and pray, tremendous power is the result, causing what He has said to come to pass. One thing Jerry and I learned a long time ago is that prayer that gets results is based on His Word. In every prayer of agreement and prayer of petition we prayed over the years, we based it on His Word. Hebrews 4:12, in the Amplified Classic, says, “For the word of God that speaks is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective].” Praise God!

Prayer is the living Word of God in our mouths. You can speak life to what looks dead. If a marriage looks dead, speak God’s word to it and watch the Word bring resurrection life to it. When we speak the word of God in faith, it pleases God. It allows the “word of His power” to go to work.

Isaiah 55:11 says, “So shall My word be that goes forth out of My mouth: it shall not return to me void [without producing any effect, useless], but it shall accomplish that which I please and purpose, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it” (Amplified Classic). Prayer will produce! His Word goes forth
to accomplish.

For 55 years, I have stood behind my husband and our ministry by staying on my knees in my prayer closet. I want to encourage you that I have seen prayer work powerfully over and over again in our life and ministry. It is a mighty, spiritual weapon. From healing my daughter’s fingers to removing ministry barriers, prayer produces power. Let’s boldly go into prayer, aligning ourselves and our words to accomplish His will, for the days ahead.

Advancement, progression, and promotion is coming your way; it’s the word of the Lord. Stay in faith. Remain focused on the promises. Don’t get distracted by the world around you. Put that word in your mouth and speak it boldly in your prayers. God is watching over it to perform it, and it will produce His desired effect!

As you give this month, my team will send you one of my husband’s powerful messages titled, Believing to See the Goodness of God, as my thank you to you.

P.S. Remember that rejoicing and thanksgiving always accompany prayer. Why? Because we know we have what we ask when we pray. So praise in advance! I’m praising and thanking God for all He is doing for you. We hope to hear from you soon.
